JULY: The ebbs and flows of this lovely life. Wh JULY: The ebbs and flows of this lovely life.

What a blessing it is to have your little family grow. This past month and a half has been unwashed dishes, unfolded laundry, and unswept floors. While overwhelming at the time, it is all forgotten to the joy of a new little soul.

Everything is changing, but only as it should be.

I will be still and know that He is God.
I always wanted to be a mom, but somewhere along t I always wanted to be a mom, but somewhere along the way I got convinced that getting a 9-5, joining corporate America, and breaking glass ceilings was something I wanted more.

It looked glamorous. It was praised. It was the boss babe, cool girl, heels and pants suit, kinda vibe.

I thought I don't *just* want to be a mom.

But something changed. I decided not to chase the boss girl life, and I wouldn't miss this for the world.

It's wild that there are so many different ways to It's wild that there are so many different ways to be healthy. Sometimes it can feel overwhelming when you hear health experts say:

"Eat this not that,"
"Vegetables are good."
"Vegetables have too many lectins!"
"Fruit is healthy."
"Fruit has too much sugar."
"Butter will kill you."
"Butter is a healthy fat."

Sometimes I feel like you just can win. But where I find myself today is looking at food through the lense that is God made it and it's a real, whole food it is Good.

It might not be good for you at the moment, maybe you need to heal before bringing it back in.

It might not be good in it's raw state, maybe it needs to be prepared in a traditional manner.

It might not be good in it's conventional form, maybe it needs to be bought from a local farmer.

But that doesn't mean it's not good.

We prep for pregnancy, we prep for birth, we prep We prep for pregnancy, we prep for birth, we prep for baby, but sometimes we forget to prep for ourselves. Postpartum is a rollercoaster experience. Some days are good and some difficult, but prepping beforehand can definitely make things easier.

These are 6 things I did to prepare for my second postpartum, and they have all helped make this postpartum better.

What is your favorite way to prep for the postpartum period?

When you know better you do better. Almost all the When you know better you do better. Almost all these things were part of my everyday life at one point in time, but as I learned how each of these things could be adding to my toxic load I started making changes. Here are the swaps I made:

➡️ Diffusing essential oil
➡️ Reheating on the stove or oven
➡️ Wearing organic cotton undies
➡️ Cooking in cast iron and stainless steel
➡️ Buying olive oil and coconut oil
➡️ Turning wifi off at night

What are health changes you've made to lower your toxic load?

This is coming from a girl who was gluten free for This is coming from a girl who was gluten free for a good 8 years of her life.

What if gluten isn't the enemy? What if instead it's what we've done to the wheat it's in? What if it's the chemicals sprayed on it? What if it's the way we process it? What if it's the synthetic vitamins we add back into it? What if it's the preservatives we've put in it? What if it's the way we've commodified it?

What if that is the true enemy?
